Willie L. Best

May 25, 1933 – December 6, 2017

Willie L. Best, a resident of Colorado Springs since 1979, passed away December 6, 2017. He was retired from the United States Air Force as a Senior Master Sergeant after 28 years of service. He was also retired from School District 11, where he worked as a bus driver for 20 years.

Willie was born on May 25, 1933 to Robert and Amber and raised by his stepmother, Mildred Best, in Turkey, North Carolina.

He is survived by his wife, Elisabeth; sons: Ken, Joe, John, and Mike; daughters: Linda Best, Bobbie Wheeler, and Terry Best-Rennahan; sisters: Alease Askew, and Gayle Francis; and his brother, Vance Best.

A memorial service was held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel. Interment took place at the Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, Old Glory Columbarium.
