Kudos to Jim Pearson on our new website for veterans of AAVS, 600 Photo Sq, 601 Photo Flt, Combat Camera and including the active-duty people currently serving in Combat Camera. Jim has some great ideas to make this site a place we go to throughout the year and not just as our reunion approaches.
One of his ideas is to have some, or all of you, contribute stories and antidotes about your experiences and friendships while serving in our organization. Specifically, the things that would be great are some of the stories that flowed freely during our reunions. Share what you have done since leaving the Air Force and how your AF experience was beneficial or not.
Next year 2012 the reunion will be held September 27 – 29 in Charleston, SC. I have spoken with Jim Lotz, the Director of Operations at the 1st Combat Camera Squadron (CTCS) at Charleston AFB, SC. He assures me that the Squadron will be delighted to welcome our reunion members and give them a tour of the unit. He also said he would be willing to assist us with the reunion preparations. In addition CMSgt Marvin Krause, an old friend, is retiring from the 1st CTCS this month has offered to be our “boots on the ground” for the reunion.
Please spread the word to any of our veterans about the website and the reunion. Our reunion this year in Albuquerque was one of the best ever. Great participation and many new, “old” faces in attendance. We look forward to seeing many more of you in Charleston. Please give us your comments, we need all the help we can get!
